I’m currently in the market for a PG Strike but, there’s still a huge dilemma which I have yet to face. I can’t make up my mine whether or not to get the standard PG Strike or the PG Aile Strike + Skygrasper 30th Anniversary Version. While I saving up still, I still have time to think it through. But, eventually the time will come and I have to make the decision. As expected, I don’t want to make a decision which I will regret in the future. So, maybe you can help?
Below are some additional info on the aforementioned kits.
Kit Price: 14000 Yen
Kit Status: Released, November 2004
Kit Availability: Rare
The standard PG Strike. Really after looking at the reviews, no complains about it. Everything is top-notch as expected from a PG. The articulation is superb if not the best a Gunpla can offer. The detail is mind-boggling and the choice of weapons are pretty much standard – beam rifle, Armor Schneider and a (shiny) anti ship sword – much like all other PGs (with 00 Raiser as an exception, that thing has a serious arsenal). My favorite weapon is definitely the anti ship sword which is the largest solid melee weapon for any Gunpla. You can say it’s perfect but, it’s lacking a certain fizz.
Kit Name: PG Skygrasper + Aile Striker
Kit Price: 5000 Yen
Kit Status: Released, June 2005
Kit Availability: Rare
The first PG plane and also the cheapest PG. The idea is to bundle this kit together with the PG Strike and you get a PG Aile Strike + Skygrasper. A noble idea indeed though, it makes you wonder why Bandai didn’t in the first place. Though, Bandai did release a PG Aile Strike Rouge + Skygrasper kit later on and it cost 19000 Yen. My friend has this kit and the detail I must say is definitely PG level and the overall design is very nice.
The total comes out to be 19000 Yen. If the price isn’t the problem, the availability definitely is. Trying to get both this kits simultaneously is very difficult from where I come from.
Now this is where the 30th Anniversary Strike comes in play. Throw in another 1000 Yen and you get the PG Aile Strike Gundam + Skygrasper 30th Anniversary Clear Color Version!
A many of you know, I’m a real fan/sucker(if that’s how you want to put it) for clear color kits with frames and this is no exception.
Kit Name: PG Aile Strike Gundam + Skygrasper 30th Anniversary Clear Color Version
Kit Price: 20000 Yen
Kit Status: Released, March 2010
Kit Availability: Limited Edition
The box art really appeals to me and the fact that this kit has 100% frame just makes the clear color appeal much greater. Best of all, it’s a 30th Anniversary Limited Edition kit! Though, at the end of the day, I don’t know how great it will be. From what I can see from Hobby Search, the clear parts are of the same great quality as the MGs. Only problem as m brother has already pointed out is that there is, as it is PG Strike already reveals a lot of frame works and not much armor parts. Which makes me wonder whether or not I will regret buying this kit.
Still pondering without any direction. Hopefully you guys can provide some assistance.

if you like clear kits, then go for it.
this one is good, but in photography I’m not too fond with clear parts, maybe it will be good-looking in the real life though.
look again at dalong and have your decision.
Dalong hasn’t put up a review of the 30th Anniversary version yet.
hey, i just bought a 30th anniv of aile strike at HLJ.com they have those 70% discount thingy ^_^ .
So jealous.
Have fun building but, I’m thinking of getting the standard PG Strike together with the PG Aile Strike.
by the way, did either of your Clear and non-Clear PG Aile Strike came with any decals?
tnx
Not too sure, but you can check Dalong.net but, none from the looks of it
Well, this is the frist time I ever thought about PG kits, I’d say you go for the Original PG strike, see if you need the Aile Strike pack, if you need both, we;; hey you”’ have to get the Skygrasper n Aile too, but what if you’re satisfied with just the Strike? I absolutely would LOVE to have a PG Strike Gundam even without his pack.
Thanks alot. But, saving my money for StrikeFreedom now.
