Well, it’s that time of the month again and the sole reason why for such a late post, that and the fact that my dumb internet was down for more than a week. So, I’ve spent a whole week doing Gunpla shopping and this month’s loot is a very interesting one.
Well, I’ll start with the MGs,
Kit Name: MG Infinite Justice 30th Anniversary Version
Kit Price: 5000 Yen
Kit Status: Re-released, December 2009
Kit Availability: Limited Edition
Well, I’ve been pondering over some time whether or not to get this kit and I finally did mostly because of my friend’s strong recommendation and it was selling at a slightly cheaper price. While most stores sold it at the usual 5000 Yen, I managed to get mine for 4600 Yen. Only a 400 Yen difference but as my philosophy goes every cent saved on Gunpla can be used for other Gunpla. In fact for 400 Yen, I could get another bottle of paint.
Ok, time to get serious. Regarding the kit, there are only minor differences between this, the 30th Anniversary Version, and the standard version. The most noticeable being the inclusion of one clear runner. The other being the box art, the wordings on the box art for the 30th Anniversary Version is bold white whereas the standard version is just a white outline for the words with the insides of the letters clear. Parts ways there aren’t any differences and no color remolds like the older MG Wing because the standard Infinite Justice’s color mold was already very good. Regarding color mold, the color mold for Infinite Justice is done very well and can actually be clean build and still look nice. My favourite part is still the beam shield which has some sort of blue holographic effect while my least likeable part is still the yellow.
In my opinion, Bandai still needs to work on their yellow mold. Though, all in all, I hardly have any complains well, at least until I build it.
Next up would be this,
Kit Price: 4500 Yen
Kit Status: Launched, April 2009
Kit Availability: Uncommon
I managed to get this kit at a sale.
The price which I paid for was only 3500 Yen over the retail price of 4500 Yen. So, that makes it a 33% discount and 1000 Yen less. Till date, I’ve yet to open the plastic wrap of the kit so I’ve not checked the contents yet. Thus, I wouldn’t ramble far too much about this kit. Though the truth is I hardly have any complaints about MG kits made after the year 2008 so, this should be the same.
An unexpected addition to the collection but I look forward to having it completed too.
Kit Name: MG Exia 30th Anniversary Version
Kit Price: 3800 Yen
Kit Status: Re-Released, March 2010
Kit Availability: Limited Edition
Another MG I managed to get at a special price!
This one was bought for 3400 Yen. Not much, only 400 Yen saved but combining that savings from Infinite Justice would mean an additional SD kit or two bottles of paint.
Regarding the kit, there really isn’t much to talk about, it’s well established that this is a very good kit. Everything from detail to colouration is well done and my favourite part is the holographic clear parts for the joints and clear green parts for the GN Condensors. No chrome GN Blades and LED GN Drive but, it’s something one can live with because of the lovely additional clear parts. The clear parts consists of two legs, hips, little bit of arm armour and the white portion of the shield.
Only after buying this kit did I realize I forgot to buy the water slide decals for it. XD
Oh! Yeah! From buying all those MGs I managed to get this set of Limited Edition decals at a special event,
Now, moving on to the SDs,
Kit Price: 500 Yen
Kit Status: Released, November 2001
Kit Availability: Uncommon
With this, my Operation V BB Set is complete!
For those of you who do not know or did not notice, this kit is the second issue version of the BB Guncannon. This kit has majorly improved design, articulation and detailing over the original issue. Very much like the BB RX-78-2 Gundam 30th Anniversary Version and the original BB RX-78-2. The most noticeable differences would be the proportions, articulation of the arms and detail of the head. Proportions wise this one is much better and looks more natural. Articulation of the hand is majorly improved providing a certain degree of movement at the elbow joint making action poses nicer. The detail on the head on the other hand is taken from the MG Guncannon with camera details behind the clear visor.
This kit promises to be a very fun and simple build.
Next up, the BB Senshi Sangokuden collection,
Kit Name: Shouretsutei Ryuubi Gundam
Kit Price: 2000 Yen
Kit Status: Released, December 2008
Kit Availability: Common / Uncommon
Now, I finally have all the 3 Emperors of the 3 Kingdoms. Though, I did wonder when I would buy this kit
The main gimmick and selling point of this kit is the chrome gold parts for the Dragon Armour which can both combine on Ryuubi to form his Emperor Armour or combine to form a Dragon.
This kit consists of 5 medium-sized runners with a full piece of chrome gold runners which frankly look very nice. All of the parts are touch gates so a side cutter will not be required. Frankly, nothing much to be said about this kit because most of the comments about it come in after it is completed.
Kit Name: Sonsaku Physalis Gundam
Kit Price: 600 Yen
Kit Status: Released, November 2009
Kit Availability: Common
This kit completes my Sun family collection. A rather simple kit comes with the usual 3 runners, one polycap runner and one sheet of foil stickers. The parts are also touch gate as like all other BB Senshi Sangokuden kits. Like all other Sun family kits, I like the light crème finish of the white parts. The clear blue and gun metal is also nice. Though, the gold is just mediocre. The Sonsaku Physalis Gundam that I bought came with a special button badge together with the kit.
Come’s together with several BB Senshi Sangokuden English Edition kits. Most kits dating 2009 from this series should have this button badge.
Here’s another Limited Edition merchandise I managed to get from my purchase of my BB Senshi Sangokuden kits,
12 Dawn of Mirisha Weapons!
All the 12 Weapons can be combined to form the ultimate weapon or they could be used individually or if you want you could use your creativity to combine the weapons in your own way.
Finally, the last Gunpla of my buy this month,
Kit Name: HCM Pro RX-78-2 Gundam Roll Out Color
Kit Price: 2000 Yen
Kit Availability: Limited Edition
My first HCm Pro and I’ve been hunting down this kit for quite a while already and the only place I could find it was online on HLJ. A little patience and my local supplier managed to bring in a small stock of HCM Pros. This was the first and last box available so, I do count myself very lucky. Best part is, i managed to get it from my supplier at only 1300 Yen.
As of now, the kit still remains in its plastic seal wrap and I’ve only opened the kit once to see the contents. I really really like this kit and the box art especially. Here are some extra pics,
Well, that’s all folks. Here’s a final picture of a life-sized Sousou Gundam to send you off.
